Is this an IoT platform?

It is a way to put the information you care about into one live channel. Some of that information comes from devices; some comes from feeds, people and your own computer. The pool does not care.

Is a pool a database?

It is a stream with a short memory. It keeps enough history to answer "what is the state right now" and "what happened in the last day"; it is not where you keep a year of readings.

Questions

Can somebody else read my pool?

Not unless you mint them a key or flip the pool to public. A private pool answers "no such pool" to everyone but you.

Does Leumas see my camera?

A thumbnail every few seconds, stored for as long as the pool keeps history, in a pool only you can read. Never audio, never a video.
